As a FORS member you’ll benefit from free FORS Professional training for up to four drivers per course/module.

LoCity

 

 

 

 

 

 

This remotely delivered seven-hour FORS Professional course is Driver CPC accredited and focuses on minimising the environmental impact of vans and HGVs by reducing emissions and provides drivers the knowledge and skills needed to cut costs and minimise the environmental impact of fleet operations.

Topics covered include:

  • Relationship between driving style, fuel consumption and environmental impact
  • How regular maintenance and vehicle checks can cut costs and emissions
  • Fuel efficient driving techniques
  • Use of in-vehicle technology to improve fuel economy
  • Benefits of journey planning
  • Alternative fuels in commercial vehicles

This course will help your organisation to reduce fuel usage, emissions and running costs, whilst increasing driver productivity, safety, and compliance.

 


Safe Urban Driving (SUD)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Safe Urban Driving (SUD) is seven hours of essential training for all commercial drivers operating HGVs regularly in the urban environment and where there are high volumes of vulnerable road users, such as cyclists and pedestrians. SUD training (delivered as classroom and on-cycle on the same day) is Driver CPC accredited and fully aligned to meet the requirements of:

  • Work Related Road Risk (WRRR)
  • Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) Silver level
  • Construction Logistics and Community Safety (CLOCS) Standard

 


WRRR On-Cycle Practical

 

 

 

 

 

 

This 3.5 hour cycling practical module is for any driver who has ALREADY attended a remote 3.5-hour classroom theory module for Safe Urban Driving and Van Smart from 2020-2022.
 
Safe Urban Driving and Van Smart are essential training for all commercial drivers operating regularly in the urban environment and where there are high volumes of vulnerable road users, such as cyclists and pedestrians and is fully aligned to meet the requirements of:

  • Work Related Road Risk (WRRR)
  • Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) Silver level
  • Construction Logistics and Community Safety (CLOCS) Standard 

The temporary relaxation in place for meeting the work-related road risk professional development requirement S5 during 2020/ has now ended and drivers who undertook the theory element only from  2020-2022  need to have completed the practical element by their audit in 2022.    

 


Van Smart

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Van Smart is seven hours of essential training for all commercial van drivers operating regularly in the urban environment and where there are high volumes of vulnerable road users, such as cyclists and pedestrians. Van Smart training (delivered as classroom and on-cycle on the same day) is Driver CPC accredited and fully aligned to meet the requirements of:

  • Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS) Silver level
  • Construction Logistics and Community Safety (CLOCS) Standard
