The logistics industry has yet again delivered a fantastic Christmas but this year not without its biggest challenge – of having enough drivers. The shortage of qualified and experienced HGV drivers is now a chronic problem for road freight operators and the problems experienced in the run-up to this Christmas will persist into 2015 and beyond. This is not just a haulage sector problem but is also affecting operators across British commerce.
There will be 600 operators at the FTA Driver Crisis Summit at the Ricoh Arena, Coventry on Thursday 12 March 2015 to review the current position, discuss what can be done and learn from experiences and best practice across the industry and around the world.
